SRLC Kolkata along with Sadguru Krupa Group, a social welfare organisation conducted a winter essentials distribution drive on the 4th January 2015, in the Sunderban Islands of West Bengal. A total of 500 kits which consisted of basic necessities like blanket, food items, medicines, vaseline, hair oil, ear bands, torch, socks, lanterns etc.The total cost of this event was two lakh rupees out of which SRLC Kolkata contributed fifty thousand. Sadguru Krupa Group is a social welfare organisation based in Kolkata which has been involved in mega distribution drives reaching out to the tribals in West Bengal.

Sunderbans, popular for Royal Bengal tigers is an extremely poverty stricken underdeveloped tribal belt which is an amalgamation of about 100 small islands. It experiences scarcity of food, drinking water and electricity. The distribution event was completed smoothly and sevaks felt humbled by the gratitude they saw in the eyes of the beneficiaries. The natives blessed them and expressed their enjoyment at the interaction. It was a very fulfilling experience for sevaks who worked constantly felt privileged to be a part of this mega distribution.
